Privacy policy
What this site collects, what happens to it, and what it does not do.
TODO: legal review before launch. This is a plain-language draft written to match how the site actually behaves. It is not legal advice and no attorney has reviewed it. Before it is final:
- Settle where the contact form submits. If a form service is chosen, it has to be named here.
- Confirm whether a separate Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act privacy notice is required for the practice. Tax preparers are generally treated as financial institutions under the GLBA, and that notice is a different document from a website privacy policy. Ask Ryan’s attorney or professional liability carrier.
- Name the client portal vendor and link its privacy policy.
- Add a last-updated date.
What this site collects
This website doesn’t use analytics, advertising trackers, or cookies, and no third-party scripts run on it. Nothing about your visit is recorded by the site itself.
The only information collected is what you choose to send: a message through the contact form, an email, or a phone call.
What happens to it
Your message goes to Ryan Cornell, CPA, PLLC and is used to reply to you. It isn’t sold, rented, or shared for marketing, and it isn’t added to a mailing list.
Hosting and fonts
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles the network requests needed to deliver each page, and its own logging is governed by its policies rather than this one.
Typefaces are served from this site, so viewing a page doesn’t send a request to a font service.
The client portal
The client portal linked on this site is a separate service run by a third-party vendor at ryancornellcpa.securefilepro.com. Documents and information you submit there are handled under that vendor’s terms and privacy policy, not this one.
Your client information
Information you provide during a professional engagement is confidential. It is handled under the confidentiality rules that apply to certified public accountants, including Internal Revenue Code section 7216, which restricts the use and disclosure of tax return information.
Children
This site isn’t directed at children and doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
